JOB SUMMARY: The Albany Arena Football team seeks a detail-oriented, motivated and organized individual to assist in managing its game operations and marketing. Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence.


TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in all aspects of Albany AFL game operations including game day entertainment and production, event planning, set-up, coordination of internal and external parties, and compliance with league guidelines
• Provide insight and maintain efficient processes to streamline game operations
• Work closely with Times Union Center operations staff to ensure proper compliance with arena regulations
• Assisting full-time staff on marketing and promotional projects
• Attending/staffing additional outside events (community relations)
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned

The Albany Arena Football team is looking for an experienced Communications Manager who will be responsible for creating and implementing public and community relations strategies for the team. Responsibilities will also include building brand awareness within the Capital community and beyond as well as securing and maintaining relationships with members of the media both locally, regionally and nationally. The Communications Manager will also work to create and maintain a positive team image within the community. Communications Manager will travel with the team to ensure all media needs are met. AFL ALBANY DANCE TEAM CHOREOGRAPHER

The Albany Arena Football team is looking for the ideal candidate to lead their dance team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved with the team from the ground floor and help mold the dance team into one of the best in the country, as well as helping them become ambassadors for the organization in the community through personal and charitable appearances.

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Work directly with AFL Events & Program Manger to:

  • Schedule and coordinate annual dance team auditions and workshops; choreograph the dance routines which candidates perform during the audition process; manages final selection process.
  • Choreograph all routines performed at home games throughout the football season as well as special events; teaches routines to the dance team to ensure all team members are prepared to meet performance expectations.
  • Manages rehearsals; ensures all team members are adequately prepared to perform as outlined in dancer’s contract. • Design photo shoots and print items process
  • Direct dancers at all home games, rehearsals and special events and responsible for keeping track of attendance at each
  • Work with team Event & Program Manager to establish all sponsor-able items for Dancers i.e. stylists, gym memberships, skin care, teeth whitening, tanning, etc. 
  • Responsible for all dancer paperwork - new hire, payroll, etc. • Work with AFL Albany front offices for dance team promotional appearances on a regular basis; communicate team appearance dates, times, etc. to all team members
  • Assist with Jr. Dance program including: selection process, practices, training and performances

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skilled in the creation and execution of dance routines for public performances • Advanced knowledge of dance fundamentals, movements and style
  • Minimum five years training in various dance styles to include: jazz, modern, ballet, hip-hop, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum two years teaching dance, including at least one-year of teaching adults
  • Candidate must be: professional, creative, reliable, energetic, fun, disciplined and have the ability to lead • Candidate must possess high moral standards and hold dance team members to that same standard
  • Candidate must have schedule/time flexibility to fit in practice times, game times and special event performances

Football Operations Internship - Reports to the AFL Albany Director of Football Operations. Works directly with players and coaching staff on a daily basis. Attends all home games.

Description:
This is a non-paid internship. Hours are flexible and will be agreed upon by supervisor and intern. Hours needed for this internship are generally from 7:00am through 2:00pm daily. Experience in sports not necessary, but is preferred. Applicants must have their own form of transportation. This internship runs throughout the 2018 season. Duties begin on or before February 2018 and extend through August 2018.

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dynamic, driven individual to work as a Graphic Design/Digital Media Intern.   • Understand brand essence and create and develop impactful artwork and designs.
  • Suggest new ideas and approach to the teams marketing strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in graphic arts and/or related field, previous experience with agency or professional sports team is ideal but not required.

·         Must know Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.

·         HTML experience preferred.
