Sales and Marketing Intern - Orlando Predators (Orlando, FL)

2015 Orlando Predators Sales & Marketing Internship

The 2014 South Division Champions, Orlando Predators, are seeking highly motivated, outgoing, and dedicated candidates for our 2015 internships.  Candidates should expect to build upon their work experience in the fast-paced, results driven world of the AFL.

Finalists will be contacted for interviews.  All applications will be kept on file until the beginning of the internship program that each candidate applied for.

 

Position Overview:

The internship program offers hands-on experience in sales and marketing through implementing and planning off season activities leading up to and through the conclusion of the 2015 season.  Sales and Marketing Interns will be an integral part of the Predators sales team by assisting in all aspects of selling, fulfilling and executing sales initiatives.  Interns will also provide support for grassroots marketing, ticket sales events and Orlando Predators game days. This internship is for outgoing, hardworking individuals who want to start a career in sales or sports and are not afraid to work hard or be told “No”.

Responsibilities:

-       Make predetermined amount of sales calls to leads from current lists, researching new leads and closing sales via telephone when appropriate or setting up meetings to present ticket packages to close sales.

-       Assist in executing various grassroots marketing activities with Ticket Sales department in order to drive ticket sales and brand awareness.

-       Assist on Game Days with sales, marketing & service initiatives.

-       Support Ticket Sales Department with all ticketing initiatives as needed.

Physical Requirements:

-       Individuals are regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

-       Individuals must be able to transfer, lift and move items for departmental needs.

-       Individuals must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.

2015 Video Intern - Philadelphia Soul (Voorhees, NJ)

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a self-starter and a team player
- Should have previous experience as a camera operator
- Should have a working knowledge of the game of arena football
- Experience with non-linear editing software, graphic design software. Experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus!
- Excellent written and verbal skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Must be able to work with the team throughout the 2015 season

Internships: Player Operations
Internship, Football Operations - Philadelphia Soul (Voorhees, NJ)

The position begins immediately and continues throughout the entire season until two weeks after the ArenaBowl in August 2015. This job will primarily be based out of our practice facility in Voorhees, NJ.

The position will include, but not be limited to, the following duties:

1. An individual scouting project that includes filming practice, assist in composing scouting reports and making contacts in the football world.

2. Work with the football operations staff and the general manager to compiling and submitting reports required by the League.

3. Assisting coaches with compiling weekly reports.

4. Assisting equipment staff with the setup and breakdown of the field for practices and workouts.

5. Other duties as assigned by the coaching staff and general manager.

This position is unpaid. Fall semester hour are flexible.  Spring candidates must make a minimum commitment of 20 hours a week from the time that you start until, as noted, two weeks after the ArenaBowl in August 2015.

Candidates must be a college/graduate student seeking course credit.

The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League are seeking highly motivated college-level students striving to gain operations / marketing experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. The position runs during the Spring 2015 semester - starting in January through the end of the season.

Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assisting full-time staff on marketing and promotional projects
• Oversee specific game-day operations responsibilities
• Contacting qualified and unqualified sales leads to generate new business ticket revenue

accepting applications for the position of Player Personnel/Football
Operations intern for the 2014 Football Season. We are looking for
individuals who can commit to 20 hours per week. Duties will include but
not be limited to:

* Assisting in various administrative duties for personnel department
* Learning how to research prospective players.
* Maintains league player rosters and our team prospect board.
* Assist with preparing scouting reports on prospective players and
upcoming opponents.
* Learn how to evaluate and "break down" game film.

Game Operations Internship - Spokane Shock (Spokane Valley, WA)

Description: Intern will work directly with the Director of Game Operations, while also providing support with the creative, and communications aspects of the marketing and operations department. The start date would be mid-to-late November, with the potential to continue on to the regular season (including postseason). This internship will be unpaid, but is eligible to receive college credit. Internship could require working nights, weekends, and holidays. Intern should also expect to work games and/or other Shock non-game events. In-office work will involve managing new projects, research, creating new campaigns, managing various game elements.

Job Duties can include:

  • In-game promotion execution
  • Assist in execution of grassroots events and other HEAT non-game events
  • Assist in creation of campaigns and new grassroots opportunities
  • Assembly and preparation of media kits (as needed, surrounding media campaigns throughout the season)
  • Assist with researching and contacting new clients to market talent to assist with talent booking process
  • Assist with Sponsorship relations and execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency in software for desktop publishing, and presentations, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro), Microsoft Office (emphasis on PowerPoint), and Apple Keynote. ***These skills are not required but applicants with experience are encouraged to apply.

The Communications Intern will be responsible for a number of key functions of the Shock’s communications and media relations department. This position is an unpaid internship.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create content through collection of information from team staff and team for use across the Company’s various communication platforms, digital and otherwise
  • Write drafts of all press releases for submission
  • Create templates and content for press releases
  • Format game notes, bios and building statistical packages for media and scouts
  • Coordinate media interactions with team members
  • Update team stats, bios and transactions for the Shock
  • Assist with coordinating and executing various media drops throughout the season
  • Provide general administrative support for the Communications Department
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned

The graphic design intern is responsible for the creation and maintenance of graphics, brand, and presentation. This intern will work closely with Director of Operations and partner other designers to develop media-rich collateral (print and digital) which will support marketing/sales needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency in software for graphic design, desktop publishing, and presentations, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro), Microsoft Office (emphasis on PowerPoint), and Apple Keynote
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in presentation design, graphic design, color, illustration, iconography, and typography
