From time to time the teams and League of Arena Football will be needing interns. Fall Media Relations Intern - Arena Football League (Chicago, IL)

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with the content management and upkeep of the AFL website including pictures, feature articles, statistics, and polls.
  • Assist in writing weekly press releases.
  • Assist with all AFL social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram).
  • Assist in the publication of the 2014 Record and Fact Book and Blue Book.
  • Assist in editing of all AFL publications and materials.
  • Participate in League Media Relations conference calls
  • Assist in compiling and recording data and information received from member teams

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Current college or graduate student
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Writing experience required. League will request writing samples from each candidate.

Please note that we do not provide housing or transportation. All candidates must have reliable transportation.

Game Operations/Marketing Spring Intern - Philadelphia Soul (Voorhees, NJ)

The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League are seeking highly motivated college-level students striving to gain operations / marketing experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. This internship will provide much opportunity for creativity and growth, but will require hard work, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness, especially on game days. The position runs during the Spring 2015 semester - starting in January through the end of the season.

JOB SUMMARY: The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League are offering an opportunity to current college level students looking to gain real world operations and marketing experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assisting full-time staff on marketing and promotional projects
• Oversee specific game-day operations responsibilities
• Contacting qualified and unqualified sales leads to generate new business ticket revenue
• Prospecting and creating for new clients in season tickets, groups, suites and hospitality events
• Attending/staffing additional outside events (community relations)
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned (i.e. contract fulfillment).

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Candidates must have a desire to further his/her level of experience in the professional sports/entertainment industry. Candidates must be self-motivating, reliable and enthusiastic. Candidates must be able to work 40+ hours per week. Candidate is able to receive college credit based on the specific requirements form his/her school. Candidate is responsible for all travel and parking. Position runs from January 2015 – August 2015

2014 Spring Sales Department Internship - Philadelphia Soul (Voorhees, NJ)


 This internship is ideal for someone that is serious about pursuing a career in sales with a professional sports team. It will provide sales, customer service, ticket operations, and fulfillment experience.
 

JOB SUMMARY: The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League are offering an opportunity to current college level students looking to gain real world sales experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence.
 

This internship is available for full-time candidates who can work the entire length of the season (Jan-Aug).
 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily outbound sales campaigns
• Assisting the sales department in day to day ticket operations.
• Attending/staffing outside events (sales tables)
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned (i.e. contract fulfillment).
• Assisting clients and providing customers service
 

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Candidates must have a desire to work hard to gain sales experience in the professional sports/entertainment industry. Looking for aggressive , intelligent , social, 'people person(s)'. Player Personnel/Football Operations Intern - San Jose SaberCats (San Jose, CA)

 

DESCRIPTION
If you are looking to begin a career in player personnel or football
operations this is a great opportunity for you. The Three-time ArenaBowl
Champion San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League are now
accepting applications for the position of Player Personnel/Football
Operations intern for the 2014 Football Season. We are looking for
individuals who can commit to 20 hours per week. Duties will include but
not be limited to:

 

* Assisting in various administrative duties for personnel department
* Learning how to research prospective players.
* Maintains league player rosters and our team prospect board.
* Assist with preparing scouting reports on prospective players and
upcoming opponents.
* Learn how to evaluate and "break down" game film.
* Assists in coordinating team meals for training camp and regular
season practices.
* Assist with planning Sabercats tryout camps.
* Assists with the maintenance of our database of all NFL, CFL, AFL,
UFL and indoor football leagues transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
* Previous experience playing football is desired.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
* Ability to work as a team or autonomously.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to multitask; excellent organizational and time management
skills.

COMPENSATION
This is an unpaid position, college credit only.
