Journalism/Communications Internship - Las Vegas Outlaws (Las Vegas, NV)

Communications / Journalism Internship 

The Las Vegas Outlaws are currently looking for an exceptional intern to help our communications and marketing team with communications/journalism. We’re looking for a person who enjoys being part of a team, who takes initiative, and wants to gain new experiences with a professional football organization. Be ready to have real responsibility, and have an impact on the Outlaws communications efforts.

The Communications Intern will be responsible for a number of key functions for the media relations department. This position is an unpaid internship.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write articles for the teams website.
  • Write drafts of all press releases for submission
  • Create templates and content for press releases
  • Format game notes, bios and building statistical packages for media and scouts
  • Coordinate media interactions with team members
  • Update team stats, bios and transactions for the Outlaws
  • Assist with coordinating and executing various media drops throughout the season
  • Provide general administrative support for the Media Department
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned


  • Familiarity, interest, and knowledge of football
  • Excellent communication skills - grammar, spelling, proofreading, and writing abilities
  • Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, and to meet strict deadlines
  • A self-starter who is a good problem solver, very organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency and quality
  • Highly organized, motivated and responsible with good time and project management abilities
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation

The internship is a volunteer program, as interns are not financially compensated but are eligible for school credit.

Player Personnel/Football Operations Intern - San Jose SaberCats (San Jose, CA)

If you are looking to begin a career in player personnel or football
operations this is a great opportunity for you. The Three-time ArenaBowl
Champion San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League are now
accepting applications for the position of Player Personnel/Football
Operations intern for the 2015 Football Season. We are looking for
individuals who can commit to 20 hours per week. Duties will include but
not be limited to:

* Assisting in various administrative duties for personnel department
* Learning how to research prospective players.
* Maintain league player rosters and our team prospect board.
* Assist with preparing scouting reports on prospective players and
upcoming opponents.
* Learn how to evaluate and "break down" game film.
* Assists in coordinating team meals for training camp and regular
season practices.
* Assist with planning Sabercats tryout camps.
* Assists with the maintenance of our database of all NFL, CFL, AFL,
UFL and indoor football leagues transactions.


* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
* Previous experience playing football is desired.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
* Ability to work as a team or autonomously.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to multitask; excellent organizational and time management

This is an unpaid position, college credit only.
