Athletic Training Internship - Arizona Rattlers (Mesa, AZ)

The Arizona Rattlers are looking for up to four (4) BOC certified graduate assistant athletic trainers for the 2016 AFL season.  The position begins in late January for the spring semester of 2016 with the possibility to continue through the summer and fall semesters if coursework and college credit permits.
This internship is unpaid and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. 
The Athletic Training Graduate Intern(s) will support the entire Arizona Rattlers Sports Medicine department.

Job Duties:
•  Perform daily athletic training duties to include:
o Evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions
o Taping/Wrapping/Strapping
• Assist with pre-season/new player entrance physicals.
• Administer baseline Movement Efficiency screens.
• Assist with hydration set-up/break-down prior to and following all practices and games.
• Assist in providing medical coverage for practices and games.
• Data tracking and analysis of athletic training room inventory and reorder/stock when necessary.
• Assist with various administrative duties such as organization, managing, and filing paperwork.
• Assist in the designing, implementing, and supervision of rehab & maintenance programs for injured athletes.
• Assist with the supervision of undergraduate athletic training interns in the prevention, care and rehabilitation of Arizona Rattlers players.
• All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• NATABOC Certified [preferred]
• AED/CPR Certified
• Must receive college credit for internship
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to obtain local housing accommodations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays based on team needs and event schedule.
• Must be able to handle the physical responsibilities of an athletic training position
o standing for long periods of time
o ability to work in extreme heat/cold
o carrying/lifting heavy loads
• Previous experience with football
*This position is unpaid. Students are responsible for arranging living arrangements in the mesa/phoenix Arizona.  Arrangements must be secured prior to the start of the internship.*

Media Relations/ Sports Information Internship - Arizona Rattlers (Mesa, AZ)

Media Internship

Media – Spring and/or Summer 2016 – Arizona Rattlers

Internship Description: This is a non-paid internship. Hours are flexible and will be agreed to by the director and intern. Experience in sports is not necessary, but a desire to work in the industry is recommended. The primary goal of this internship is to teach interns the responsibilities of working in a communications and media department of a professional sports team. For the 2016 season, the Rattlers are looking for one media intern that has a strong passion for writing, working with media personalities, and other related areas.  Our ideal candidates are motivated and interested in working in a fast-paced environment. The length of the internship will be from March through the end of August. The intern must be able to perform duties at the Talking Stick Arena on game day.  Those interested in knowing more information are asked to apply with a resume and cover letter.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with writing that may including but not limited to: game day program, media guide, game notes, press releases, and other projects as assigned. 

  • Work on miscellaneous assignments during gameday.

  • Assist with filming and content for a “coach’s show”

  • Make contact with media throughout Arizona.

  • Assist in promotions for the Arizona Rattlers, including but not limited to game day.

  • Ability to represent the Rattlers at special events with integrity at all times, including game day or appearances as assigned.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Assist with team operations as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.

  • Knowledge of PC and/or MAC operating systems.

  • Knowledge of photography a plus.

  • Ability to take lead direction on projects as assigned and implement feedback.

  • Ideal candidates will receive college credit for the internship.

  • Ideal candidates will be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.

The Five time Arena Bowl Champions Arizona Rattlers are looking for three dynamic strength and conditioning interns to assist with all aspects of our strength program.  You should have a working knowledge of stretching programs, weight training techniques and possess natural leadership qualities. Please include a cover letter with your resume outlining why you are seeking this opportunity. 

Requirements:
• Must have strong passion for Strength and Conditioning at the next level
• Must carry certification or degree in personal training, cross fit and/or kinesiology
• Must have working knowledge of stretching professional athletes

• Must be available for 20 or more hours a week and all nine home games

Sales & Business Development Intern - Philadelphia Soul (Voorhees, NJ)

This internship is ideal for someone that is serious about pursuing a career in sales with a professional sports team. It will provide sales, customer service, ticket operations, and fulfillment experience. This position will report directly to the Senior Director and the Vice President of Ticket Sales.

JOB SUMMARY: The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League is offering an opportunity to current college level students looking to gain real world sales experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. 2016 Game Day Operations Internship - Philadelphia Soul (Philadelphia, PA)

The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League are seeking highly motivated college-level students striving to gain operations/event management experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. This internship will provide much opportunity for creativity and growth, but will require hard work, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness, especially on game days. The position runs from mid-March through the last week in August and its primary focus will be in the Operations Department, specifically in the setup and implementation of game day production and other events.

The Game Operations intern will receive 180 hours of work with the Soul, with approximately 100 of those hours being fulfilled on game day and the remaining hours being fulfilled through scheduled times in the Soul front offices or other events.

The job description is as follows:

·         Setup and breakdown of concourse activities/displays on game nights.

·         Assist in the execution of all Soul game-night operations including, but not limited to; sponsor elements, in-game promotions, pre-game/halftime set-up and activation, coordination of theme nights, executing promotional tasks, credential distribution, halftime acts, pre-game elements, promotion team coordination, assisting in game community relations initiatives, assisting with promotional giveaways, etc

·         Game Day Interns will help in the setup of game day events and production. Each game, the intern will have a different responsibility relating to the game operation.

·         Game Day Interns are not paid; you must receive college credit for the internship.

·         Game Day Interns are required to work every home game for the Soul.

·         Game Day Interns must have reliable transportation to the Soul offices, Wells Fargo Center, and any other events where attendance is mandatory.

Game Day Operations Internship - Spokane Empire (Spokane Valley, WA)

Description: Intern will work directly with the Director of Game Operations, while also providing support with the creative, and communications aspects of the marketing and operations department. The start date would be mid-to-late January, with the potential to continue on to the regular season, February - July (including postseason). This internship will be unpaid, but is eligible to receive college credit. Internship could require working nights, weekends, and holidays. Intern should also expect to work games and/or other Shock non-game events. In-office work will involve managing new projects, research, creating new campaigns, managing various game elements.

Job Duties can include:

  • In-game promotion execution
  • Assist in execution of grassroots events and other Shock non-game events
  • Assist in creation of campaigns and new grassroots opportunities
  • Assembly and preparation of media kits (as needed, surrounding media campaigns throughout the season)
  • Assist with researching and contacting new clients to market talent to assist with talent booking process
  • Assist with Sponsorship relations and execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency in software for desktop publishing, and presentations, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro), Microsoft Office (emphasis on PowerPoint), and Apple Keynote. ***These skills are not required but applicants with experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to adapt easily in a fast-paced team environment and balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Knowledge of both PC and Mac environments
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of file formats and specifications in preparation for printing versus web
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
