This internship is ideal for someone that is serious about pursuing a career in sales with a professional sports team. It will provide sales, customer service, ticket operations, and fulfillment experience. This position will report directly to the Membership & Ticket Operations Manager, Groups Sales Manager and the Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service.

JOB SUMMARY: The Albany Arena Football team is offering an opportunity to current college level students looking to gain real world sales experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. Our emphasis is to provide significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements and opportunity for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence.

This internship is available for full-time candidates, eligible to work for college credit beginning in January of 2018. The position runs through May 2018.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily outbound sales campaigns
  • Assisting the sales department in day-to-day ticket operations
  • Ensuring pre-season, in-season & game day activation and delivery of all AFL Albany ticket/experience deliverables
  • Attending/staffing outside events
  • Offering sales/marketing feedback/suggestions as it pertains to the sales department

Description

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dynamic, driven individual to work as a Graphic Design/Digital Media Intern. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that requires the ability to deliver timely, creative, design support and solutions. The role is responsible for visual communications including development of all sales and marketing materials such as sales collateral and digital graphics.  

The internship will run from January 2018 thru May 2018.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the creative aspects for Albany branding, marketing materials including: print, online, TV, radio, billboards, etc.
  • Assist with the creation, editing, and printing of sales and marketing collateral pieces.
  • Assist and coordinate any non-traditional marketing efforts (distributing flyers/pocket schedules/mascot appearances and creating flyers for these events)
  • Develop content (graphics, campaigns, videos, etc.) to be used on all social media platforms.
  • Presenting finalized ideas and concepts.
  • Provide input, ideas and concepts for the overall marketing campaign.
  • Understand brand essence and create and develop impactful artwork and designs.
  • Suggest new ideas and approach to the teams marketing strategy.
  • Other duties will be designated by the Company as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in graphic arts and/or related field, previous experience with agency or professional sports team is ideal but not required.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

·         Must know Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.

·         HTML experience preferred.

Football Operations Intern - AFL Albany (Albany, NY)

Football Operations Internship - Reports to the AFL Albany Director of Football Operations. Works directly with players and coaching staff on a daily basis. Attends all home games.

Description:
This is a non-paid internship. Hours are flexible and will be agreed upon by supervisor and intern. Hours needed for this internship are generally from 7:00am through 2:00pm daily. Experience in sports not necessary, but is preferred. Applicants must have their own form of transportation. This internship runs throughout the 2018 season. Duties begin on or before February 2018 and extend through August 2018.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work daily, including holidays and weekends as required during the season
  • Prior experience in football and/or football equipment a plus

Athletic Training Internship - Philadelphia Soul (Pitman, NJ)

The back-to-back World Champion Philadelphia Soul are looking for athletic training interns for the 2018 Arena Football League season.  The position begins in early March for the spring semester of 2018 and runs through August, depending on playoffs.  Internships can be for the Spring Semester, Summer Semester or a combination of both.  The internship is unpaid and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university.  The Athletic Training Intern will support the Philadelphia Soul Athletic Training department.  The team's practice facility is located in Pitman, NJ where approximately 90% of the time will be spent.  Home games are played at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

Job Duties:

  • Perform daily athletic training duties to include:
  • Evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions
  • Taping/Wrapping
  • Assist with pre-season/new player entrance physicals
  • Assist with set-up/breakdown prior to and following all practices and games
  • Assist in providing medical coverage for practices and games
  • Assist with various administrative duties such as organization, managing and filing paperwork
  • Assist in the designing, implementing and supervision of rehab and maintenance programs for injured athletes
  • All other duties as assigned

  • AED/CPR Certified

Candidates must be able to work 40+ hours per week. Candidate is able to receive college credit based on the specific requirements from his/her school. Position runs from January 2018 – August 2018.

Corporate Partnerships Intern Spring 2018 (Full Time) - Philadelphia Soul (Voorhees, NJ)

YOU MUST BE A COLLEGE STUDENT EARNING COLLEGE CREDITS TO APPLY TO THIS INTERNSHIP!

This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with Corporate Sales/Sponsorship personnel, develop skills, and gain valuable experience in the exciting and fast-paced environment of a professional football team.

Responsibilities Include:
• Fulfill contractual elements of team sponsors 
• Develop and maintain plans of action per sponsorship
• Draft correspondence and forms to current and potential sponsors
• Record and monitor inventory spreadsheets (i.e. print, media, in-arena, and merchandise)
• Maintain client service interaction (i.e. contractual elements have been fulfilled; maintain rapport)
• Perform other duties as assigned
