Football Operations Internship - Arena Football League (Las Vegas, NV)

The Arena Football League Office has internship positions in the Football Operations Department beginning immediately with Fall (Offseason) and Spring (In-season) semester available.  This is a non-paid internship and candidates MUST be earning credit with an accredited degree program. Desired candidates for Spring will be asked to work through the entire season (ArenaBowl in August).  The job will be based out of the Las Vegas, NV office.  The primary goal of this internship is to teach the intern the responsibilities of working in and functions of a professional sports league.

The position’s responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following duties:

  1. Organizing, filing and management of Daily Transactions (waiver and contract collection).

  2. Serve as an additional contact for teams during correspondence on League matters.

  3. Updating and maintaining team rosters and player database on League site.

  4. Assist the department with compiling reports for the Board of Directors, Rules and Comp Committee, game officials and coaches.

  5. Assist with correspondence partners and officials.

  6. Update and maintain contact database with teams and other leagues.

  7. Contribute to editing and updating Rulebook and Operations Manuals.

  8. Assist in preparing agendas and planning for officials and coaching clinics and meetings.

  9. Participate in relationships with Game film and statistical maintenance partners.

  10. Other duties as assigned by the Football Operations Department.

Desired candidate traits:

  • Must be earning school credit in an accredited degree program.

  • Hard-working individual that can work independently.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Love for statistics is a plus.

  • Must have good organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction.

  • Must work flexible hours, including: nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Must have good communication and writing skills.

  • Professional and positive attitude that can work in a team environment.

  • Multi-task and think outside the box.
